The Office of Study Abroad uses an online program and participant management system called StudioAbroad, and, since implementing it for summer 2012, has found that it greatly facilitates application tracking and enrollment. The Office of Study Abroad provides training for Program Directors on using StudioAbroad to work with online applications, and should be contacted for any tech support and process questions.
Students apply online by deadline via the Office of Study Abroad’s website, into which StudioAbroad has been integrated. Once an application is complete, the Office of Study Abroad will verify the student’s eligibility (GPA and disciplinary history) and allow Program Directors the opportunity to review, interview (recommended), and make selections. Program Directors will select students based on eligibility requirements, the application dossier, and other resources including interviews and additional paperwork. After applicant review has been completed, the Office of Study Abroad will notify the students of the decisions and the next steps. It will then coordinate the course enrollment process, and in the case of graduate programs, collaborate on it with designated staff in the appropriate academic units. At this time, Blackboard can be used as for an on-campus course.
