Financial aid is available for off-campus programs approved by the Office of Study Abroad. Typically, most students are able to use their scholarships, grants and loans to help cover the costs of tuition and housing for any semester or year-long study abroad program.
Semester and Year-Long Programs
Study abroad aid applicants follow the standard financial aid application process.
Students are strongly encouraged to apply by the priority filing date to allow enough time to process the the required paperwork. It is much more difficult to collect this information while you are abroad.
January Term or Summer Session Programs
Students studying off-campus during the January Term or summer are generally only eligible for additional loans to help finance their study abroad program costs.
You are encouraged to meet with the study abroad financial aid counselor or your personal financial aid counselor after you have been accepted to a study abroad program and received notification of your financial aid award. During the appointment, your counselor can advise you of any adjustments to funds previously offered that may be necessary as well as discuss any additional steps you must take in order to receive your funding abroad.
