All short-term off-campus programs require at least one pre-departure orientation. Attendance is required.
January Term 2017 Orientation - ALL programs Friday, November 4, 2016; OEC Auditorium 3:15 - 4:00 PM Required for all UST-sponsored, UMAIE and Co-sponsored undergraduate students 4:00 - 5:30 PM Breakout sessions with Program Directors for all UST-sponsored courses. UMAIE-Sponsored January Term Orientation UMAIE courses will have an online orientation in addition to the session noted above. Program-specific dates and times will be emailed to students the first week of fall semester, or as students are accepted into programs.
Co-Sponsored January Term Pre-Departure Meeting Thursday, November 3, 2016 12:00 PM; Murray-Herrick 205 In addition to the J-Term Orientation, all co-sponsored January Term students are required to attend a pre-departure meeting. This meeting will include information on course approvals, transfer credits, registration, financial aid and other policies. Your specific program may also require an orientation. Students will be notified of those orientation schedules, dates and locations in their acceptance letter.

Half day orientation covers health and safety, financial aid, policies and procedures, as well as a wide variety of breakout session topics related to culture, academic systems, preparing to return, and many others. Pre-Departure Meetings Attendance is required at ONE Pre-Departure Meeting for all students on a co-sponsored program. London Business Semester, Rome CORE Semester and Catholic Studies Semester students are exempt from this requirement. Note: London Business Semester, Rome CORE Semester and Catholic Studies Semester students must attend orientation and additional group sessions specific to their particular program.
